‘Unearthed’ meaning ‘to be uncovered, revealed, discovered’.

Wines Unearthed is a section of a Wine Fair, dedicated to introducing producers seeking representation to UK, Asian and international buyers. A fully serviced and cost effective exhibiting option, with its own identity and marketed only to qualifying buyers.

Meet the team

Wines Unearthed is a partnership between Judy Kendrick of JK Marketing and Ana Sofia de Oliveira of The Wine Agency. With awards from Drinks Business and the International Wine Challenge, they are the currently the UK’s Wine Marketing Company of the Year 2017, an award presented by Drinks International.

Judy Kendrick

Judy started Haughton Fine Wines in 1986 (Northern Wine Merchant of the Year 1990, 1991 and 1992), a wholesaler/retailer that grew to become Haughton Agencies, a company representing some of the top independent producers from around the world including Cullen, Ridge, Mas de Daumas Gassac, Martinborough Vineyard, Mountadam and Saintsbury to name but a few. In 1996, JK Marketing was born, developing the skills learned as a retailer, shipper and agent into the professional marketing and events business for which they are internationally renowned today.

Ana Sofia de Oliveira

Ana has been working in wine marketing and communication for 10 years since moving from Paris to Lisbon. Her studies in Intercultural Communication gave her the skills to work with different cultures and professional environments which have proved very useful throughout her career. After a number of years as the Marketing and Communication Manager for Wines of Portugal (where Ana and Judy first worked together) Ana created The Wine Agency, a consultancy agency specialised in Wine Marketing and Communication.

Meet the concept

The idea behind Wines Unearthed is that:

  • All producers looking for distribution are in one place – easier and more focussed for buyers and you don’t get ‘lost’ in the Fair as you might if you were on your own.
  • You have help with promoting yourself in our newsletters, on-line winesunearthed.com and directly with the fairs.
  • You have some preparation for the Fair and about the market, so buyers know you are prepared, and you are also better able to understand the market.
  • It’s as easy as it possibly can be to exhibit – everything is included in the price offered: you just have to get yourself and your bottles to the show.
  • Wines and Spirits Unearthed is fully integrated into both London Wine Fair and Vinexpo Hong Kong, ensuring that the area is well promoted, identified and visited.
